Key Concepts Christianity

Trinity- The nature of God: God as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Expression of monotheism. 

Incarnation- Jesus as God incarnate

Church- The community of the Church and individual congregations

Salvation- Believers will be saved and be able to live in God's presence

Kingdom of God- Being close/connected with God (earthly and heavenly

Atonement- Reconciliation between God and humanity through Christ

Sin- Acting against the will of God

Resurrection- Jesus Christ's and his believers rise from the dead

Redemption- Jesus Christ becoming a redeemer by his death on the cross

Repentance- Admitting one's sins to God/ recognizing the need to be saved from sins by God

Reconciliation- Uniting God with the believers through the death of Jesus

Grace- God's love of humanity (this is the way to salvation through faith in Jesus)

Logos- The word of God incarnate as Jesus

Agape- God's love for humanity

Sacrament (Protestant)- An outer sign of a blessing given by God

Sacrament (Catholic/Orthodox)- The Presence of God
