The book, "Meditation in Modern Buddhism" is useful to my IA because it gives me views of what modern meditation is like. I can compare this source to sources about older styles of meditation and analyze how the process of meditation has changed over time. Also I can use this to determine what changes may have occurred for what reason throughout the evolution of meditation in the Buddhist religion.

The article from the New Yorker is useful for my research because it provides me with the information of how modern meditation began to become more popular in the West. It also gives me information on what meditation in the West is like. Using this as a comparison to some of the original techniques of meditation will allow me to find what changed and what has stayed the same over the time the mediation has been a significant practice for Buddhist.

This audio gives me incite into the idea that meditation is a fad. This could also have some result on why meditation is the way it is today. Like other fads meditation may have adapted just to keep people interested in it while eliminating the original purpose of meditation. If this is the case then meditation may not have as much of an important role in the eyes of Buddhist like it used to.

The book "The Origin of Buddhist Meditation" may be helpful with my IA because it will give me incite into the history of meditation. With this book I can determine how the practice of meditation has changed from the original practice. It will also allow me to see what has stayed the same and analyze the change in the significance for Buddhist over time.
